ComboCS the CCS Test System

ComboCS is a simulation and testing tool for ISO 15118 and DIN 70121 communication. We offer two models that simulate either a vehicle or a charging station. They support: all AC and DC charge types, Smart Charging, V2G, EIM and Plug&Charge (PnC) payment methods.
The ComboCS tool is dedicated to the communication layer validation: IEC 61851-1, PLC low layers (ISO 15118-3 & DIN 70121), and applicative layers (ISO 15118-2, ISO 15118-20 & DIN 70121).

The ComboCS full version provides advanced charging simulation, interoperability tests, conformance tests (ISO 15118-4, DIN 71122) and other analysis tools.

The light version, ComboCS4M, is focused on charging simulation only. (see below)

Charging sessions are done without any power transfer, but an interface exists to connect your own power bench to test under real conditions.

To debug, test and validate an ISO 15118 or DIN 70121 implementation, the ComboCS tool offers several modes as can be seen below:

TRIALOG COMBOCS

 

Trialog is working on EV charge since more than 10 years and had several opportunities to develop a strong expertise on EV charge protocols like IEC 61851, DIN 70121, ISO 15118,...

In this context, Trialog has developed ComboCS: a CCS test and validation tool.

SIMULATOR MODE

ComboCS, the CCS simulator is able to simulate either an EV or EVSE (Depends of the ComboCS model) part of a CCS implementation in order to simulate a charging session following IEC 61851-1, DIN 70121 and/or ISO/IEC 15118.

SUPERVISOR MODE

ComboCS is provided with a web interface compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac, accessible over Ethernet or Wifi. It provide access to real-time evolution of the ongoing CCS communication.

TEST CASE MODE

The test case mode of ComboCS triggers CCS communication session for a list of nominal and non-nominal predifined cases :
Conformance tests defined by ISO 15118-4, ISO 15118-5 and DIN 70122 and interoperability tests developped by Trialog.

EXPERT MODE

The expert mode provide means to modify at anytime the nominal behavior of the ComboCS before or during the charging loop.

BRIDGE MODE

When ComboCS Bridge mode is enabled, all PLC trafic is redirected to a Wireshark opened on the operator machine, providing access to the raw Ethernet trafic from SLAC to ISO 15118-2 or DIN 70121 for further analysis.

SNIFFER OPTION

This option allow your ComboCS to act as a passive sniffer and then sniff PLC trafic without interfering in any way with the CCS communication.

PSD MEASUREMENT OPTION

This option allow your ComboCS to calibrate the PLC power emission of your EV/EVSE part in order to be compliant with ISO 15118-3.

POWER TRANSFER OPTION

This option allow the ComboCS to perform simulation and test means of DIN 70121 and ISO 15118 protocols with real power transfer.

In addition we can provide training sessions on the use of the ComboCS, CCS or OCPP.
