ITT's Functions

ITT offers a complete and easy to use graphic interface for testing all aspects of your product's communication.

The ITT testing process carries out the following functions:

  • Provides the environment for the creation of new test cases. Each test case is written in an individual file known as a scenario and is coded in a C-like language.
  • Can use ready-made test cases for the certification of conformance with certain protocols.
  • Allows the organisation of several scenarios with a similar purpose or a similar test environment in a group called a campaign. Scenarios, campaigns, data files, and include files can be grouped together to form a complete test suite.
  • Compiles a scenario file. The ITT compiler provides a log of syntax errors in the scenario code.
  • Executes a scenario file. The operator selects the scenario and starts its execution.  During the execution, ITT communicates with the operator through the graphic interface.  It can ask the operator to execute a task on the equipment being tested (e.g. reset the hardware), or ask for information on the state of the equipment (e.g. a displayed value).
  • Communicates with the equipment during the execution. The Test Box exchanges frames with the equipment over the power-line network and records each frame sent and received.
  • Creates an execution log. The graphic interface provides a trace of each frame sent and received by the Test Box, each exchange with the operator, and test results. Execution errors are described in detail.
  • Provides the test result for an individual scenario (e.g. pass or fail). The test can have a partial result for each separate section, and it must have final result for the test as a whole.
  • Provides a log of final test results for every scenario that is executed in a sequence and generates a formal test report in RTF format.
